TransFirst’s Activation Department calls merchants within 24 hours of their receipt of their new terminal to assist them in the activation process. Before your pre-scheduled training and installation call with our representative, please review the following information to be ready for the call:
Bankcard processing terminals work best with a dedicated analog line, which is a telephone line that has its own telephone number, much like a fax machine.
The telephone line from the terminal into the telephone wall jack should not be on a splitter and should instead be plugged directly into the wall jack.
If your new Merchant Services terminal will share a line with the telephone that will be used during the training call, you may want to have a cell phone available during the training. Please be sure to give us this information when we contact you, and provide the cell phone number that the training representative may call.
If your telephone system requires an access number to dial out (for example 9 or 8), please be sure to let us know when you are contacted to schedule your training appointment.
Date and Time Instructions

Press [F2] for Setup
Press  [ALPHA][ALPHA] then press the [ENTER] key
Press the Purple Scroll key five times to get to Date/Time
Press [F1] for Date/Time
Type in the correct date in the indicated format and press [ENTER]
Type in the correct date in military time and press [ENTER]
Press red X (cancel) twice to return to the idle prompt
Option 2 — The second option is thru the System Mode Menu 1 which is accessible by pressing [F1] and [F2] at the same time from the idle prompt.
Simultaneously press [F2] and [F4] keys
Press 1 [ALPHA] [ALPHA] 66831 and press [ENTER]

Press one of the function keys listed below (or just start entering the year) to change the desired value(s). The terminal will automatically be ready to accept the next value shown on the screen. Note: Nothing will appear to happen after pressing a function key because there is no cursor. Start typing and you will see the terminal respond.
Press [F2] to set year (YYYY)
Press [F3] to set month (01 - 12)
Press [F4] to set day (01 - 31)

Press [ENTER] (or down arrow) to move to the next screen
Or to exit and save changes to System Mode Menu 1 and (without changing time) press [ENTER] twice.
To exit date and time (SYS MODE CLOCK) without saving changes press cancel (from either screen - date or time) to return to System Mode Menu 1.
Press [F2] to set hour (00 - 23)
Press [F3] to set minutes (00 - 59)

Settlement/Transmit — This function settles the transaction(s) in a batch to the network for payment to the Merchant.

Settlement Responses GB (Good Batch) Response — Batch successfully settled at the network.
