01.28.08 | Robert Schulte Joins TRANSFIRST® for Business Development

DALLAS (January 28, 2008) — TRANSFIRST, a leading provider of credit card processing services and payment enabling technologies, announced the appointment of Robert Schulte as Senior Vice President of Business Development for TRANSFIRST LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of TRANSFIRST Holdings Inc.

Schulte brings more than 25 years experience in sales and corporate development. For TRANSFIRST, he will manage business development activities, including identifying and pursuing merger and acquisition (M&A) opportunities which further TRANSFIRST's strategic growth objectives. After its acquisition by Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe, TRANSFIRST has targeted bank-aligned regional merchant portfolios as a strategic acquisition priority. In addition, TRANSFIRST will pursue other transactions that deliver innovative products and services which meet the ever-evolving needs of TRANSFIRST's diverse customer base in the retail, e-Commerce, healthcare and government payments marketplace.

Prior to joining TRANSFIRST, Schulte spent two decades with First Data Corporation (FDC) in corporate development and sales. As Senior Vice President of Corporate Development, he was integral to the launching of FDC's Bank Alliance Program, an initiative which formed several independent merchant acquiring joint ventures. In addition, he executed multiple bank merchant portfolio acquisition and referral partnership transactions; completing over 25 M&A transactions. Previously, Schulte served as Vice President of Sales – Merchant Services for FDC where he initiated large outsourcing agreements with major US financial institutions. He also served in both international and domestic sales roles prior to that.

Schulte served the first five years of his career in sales at Xerox Corporation. He earned a bachelors degree in business communications from Creighton University.
