01.08.07 | TRANSFIRST and Ulrich Medical Concepts, Inc. Announce Partnership to Integrate Credit Card Processing Into Medical Information Management System
Fully integrated patient pay functionality will enable healthcare practitioners to reduce private pay days outstanding and increase staff productivity.
DALLAS and PADUCAH, KY (January 8, 2007) — TRANSFIRST Health Services, Inc. a division of TRANSFIRST HOLDINGS, INC., a leading provider of credit card processing services and payment enabling technologies, and Ulrich Medical Concepts, a leading provider of Electronic Medical Record Information Management Systems serving practitioners in 8 states, today announced a partnership that will provide Ulrich Medical Concepts, Inc. ("Ulrich") customers with fully integrated payment processing capabilities. The new service linking the TRANSFIRST TRANSACTION CENTRAL™ system to Ulrich's Team Chart Concept system dramatically improves work flow and revenue cycle management through efficiency in handling co-pay and post-adjudication payment from patients. Office staff can process credit card and ACH payments without leaving the Team Concept Chart system, delivering state of the art productivity and efficiency gains only realized from full integration.
The new service combines TRANSFIRST's processing capabilities for credit card and ACH, manual and automatic recurring payments, and custom reports with Ulrich's billing and collections tasks within the practice management system. Utilizing one system, Team Chart Concept customer functionality includes patient information, financial ledger, reporting, scheduling, EDI, billing, prescriptions, EMR and now credit card and ACH payment processing. Office staff will have access to credit card and ACH payment processing anywhere within the system. The payment response from TransFirst will post directly into Team Chart Concept, eliminating the need for redundant data entry.
"Through our partnership Ulrich Medical Concepts has responded to the shift towards consumer driven health with a fully integrated solution for patient payments. Our systems will enable healthcare providers to take advantage of the many mechanisms consumers possess to pay for services rendered at the point of care and in the back office," explains Chad Wilson, CEO Ulrich Medical Concepts. "Our selection of TRANSFIRST has provided our customers with the best of breed for technology, support and services."
Christy Corey, president for TRANSFIRST's Health Services division states, "We are pleased to add Ulrich Medical Concepts to our partner program. Plans to manage Private Pay simply have not been implemented in most practices with any degree of efficiency. Focus on Third Party Collection has produced dramatic improvements in speed of collection and overall efficiency in that piece of a practice's revenue, and similar attention to Private Pay can have the exact same result. The good news is that for most practices, the majority of their patients have many payment options in their pocket that they already use in their daily lives. If healthcare practices are prepared to accept these payment options efficiently, the shift to Private Pay should not have a negative impact on practice cash flow. Our partnership will deliver functionality for Ulrich customers to take advantage of those payment types."
John Solecitto, Vice-President of Medical Development for TRANSFIRST's Health Services division adds, "Our partnership with Ulrich validates the present shift in the market and the need for improved tools in private pay collection. Ulrich customers will benefit from lower A/R days and increased productivity. Our partners like Ulrich have the foresight and commitment to deliver revenue cycle management tools required for a healthy practice in today's environment."
