and DocuTrac, Inc. Announce Partnership
to Integrate Credit Card Processing For Psychotherapist Practice Management System
Fully integrated state-of-the-art technology will enable psychotherapists to seamlessly process credits card & ACH transactions from their system replacing archaic stand alone systems. This technology addresses the shift to private pay revenue while improving
productivity and cash flow
DALLAS and HAGERSTOWN, MD (September 28, 2006) — TRANSFIRST Health Services, Inc. a division of TRANSFIRST HOLDINGS, INC, a leading provider of credit card processing services and payment enabling technologies, and DocuTrac, a leading provider of Practice Management systems serving more than 1,200 psychotherapy practitioners, today announced a partnership that will provide DocuTrac, Inc. ("DocuTrac") customers with fully integrated payment processing capabilities. The new service linking the TRANSFIRST TRANSACTION CENTRAL™ system to DocuTrac's Office Therapy™ billing system dramatically improves on traditional stand alone POS systems through efficiency in handling co-pay and post-adjudication payment from patients. Staff in a therapist's office can process credit card and ACH payments without leaving the Office Therapy system realizing productivity and work flow gains from full integration.
The new service combines TRANSFIRST's processing capabilities for credit card and ACH, manual and automatic recurring payments, and custom reports with DocuTrac's practice management system. Utilizing one system, Office Therapy customer functionality includes patient information, financial ledger, reporting, scheduling, EDI, billing, prescriptions, EMR and now credit card and ACH payment processing. A therapist's staff will have access to credit card and ACH payment processing anywhere within Office Therapy. The payment response from TRANSFIRST will post directly into Office Therapy, eliminating the need for redundant data entry.
"The current trend in healthcare shifting financial responsibility from third parties to patients has resulted in increased A/R days for many practices. Historically, practices have focused their effort towards collection from Payers. DocuTrac has responded to this shift and once again delivered our valued customers with state of the art tools for enhanced work flow and increased cash flow," explains DocuTrac President Arnie Schuster, PhD. "DocuTrac will continually expand our product offering to proactively address market shifts affecting our customers. Efficient tools to collect money at the point of care and in a post adjudication environment are critical to a financially healthy practice."
Christy Corey, president for TRANSFIRST's Health Services division explains, "The increase in the private pay portion of a provider's A/R has put financial stress on increased days outstanding for healthcare providers. Stand alone systems fall short in productivity and efficiency in offices especially when many are understaffed. These systems are neither efficient nor cost effective in processing patient payments. In working with DocuTrac, we are excited to add another integration vendor to our partner portfolio to address these needs. This partnership represents another advance in the behavioral healthcare market between two technology firms, combining to deliver meaningful enhancements to work flow and productivity in a therapist's office."
John Solecitto, vice president for TRANSFIRST Health Services divisions adds, "Healthcare has been lagging for quite some time in payment processing. Business owners in other industries can process payments from consumers via a fully integrated system, yet the most advanced healthcare system is the world still utilizes stand alone systems. TRANSFIRST and our partners are committed to improving this situation."
