02.14.05 | TRANSFIRST Recognizes The Bank of Greene County as its Top Agent Bank in New York State

Bank continues path of record growth and experiences one of the largest increases in processing volume with TRANSFIRST's end-to-end solution.

DALLAS (Feb. 14, 2005) – Dallas-based TRANSFIRST, a leading provider of transaction processing services and payment enabling technologies, today announced that The Bank of Greene County, with assets of $275 million as of Sept. 30, 2004, was its number one agent bank ranked by processing volume in New York State for 2004. The bank has posted one of the largest increases in processing volume within the TRANSFIRST Financial Institution's portfolio for a bank of its asset size. Headquartered in Catskill, N.Y., The Bank of Greene County reached a transaction processing volume of $48.7 million in 2004, securing its position as one of TRANSFIRST's largest and most progressive agent bank partners.

The Bank of Greene County has experienced significant growth and success with its merchant account program since the bank first began its partnership with TRANSFIRST in 1997. The bank's portfolio has grown from six merchant accounts with a processing volume of $1.1 million to approximately 500 merchant accounts with a current processing volume of $48.7 million.

"TRANSFIRST plays an integral role in helping our financial institution grow its merchant portfolio program," said Don Gibson, senior vice president for The Bank of Greene County. "As our merchant portfolio has continued to grow and evolve over the years, so have our payment processing needs and capabilities. TRANSFIRST provides us with customized solutions that fit our unique business needs and allow us to grow as the landscape of our merchant account portfolio changes."

"The Bank of Greene County is one of our most valued customers and we are pleased to recognize them for their outstanding processing volume in 2004," said Marla Knutson, president of TRANSFIRST's Financial Institution Services. "Seeing our financial institution customers continue to experience record growth year after year reaffirms that TRANSFIRST's core business philosophy for providing high levels of customer service, innovative products and services and customizable processing options and programs is allowing our clients to grow their business and ultimately enhance their bottom line."
"Approximately 20 percent of our new business relationships come to us because of our processing services and capabilities provided by TRANSFIRST," added Gibson. "By establishing a merchant relationship for payment processing services, our bank then has the opportunity to introduce all of our business banking products and services to help strengthen that relationship even further."

"In addition to offering a full-suite of value-added products and services, TRANSFIRST provides its financial institution customers with a superior edge and the sales tools they need to effectively complete and increase their market share," said Knutson.

Through its partnership with TRANSFIRST, The Bank of Greene County offers its merchant customers a wide range of processing capabilities such as free use of basic equipment, competitive rates with no hidden fees, a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week technical help desk, guaranteed 48-hour settlement of accounts, instant access to detailed account information and processing for all major credit and debit cards.

TRANSFIRST currently serves more than 760 community banks and is endorsed by state banking associations throughout the United States.
