Does Flat-Fee Credit Card Processing Make Sense for Your Business?

Merchants know that they must accept credit cards if they want to cater to their customers’ expectation to pay with plastic, and they generally love the boost that credit card transactions give their bottom line. What they don’t particularly care for is reconciling their monthly merchant account statement, which all too often is a time-consuming and confusing exercise. Flat-fee credit card processing from TransFirst® can change all that.

As its name implies, flat-fee credit card processing bundles several monthly fees and services into one single-fee package. Simply put, it’s one package for one price. That’s the idea behind TransFreedom® from TransFirst.

To get started with TransFreedom, merchants select their pricing tier from among several different options that are based on monthly payment processing volume and average ticket size. Once locked in, if their processing volume exceeds the maximum for their tier for any particular month, TransFreedom provides free bonus volume up to $1,000. If their volume surpasses the tier maximum and the free bonus volume, additional volume is automatically purchased and billed to merchant at an established rate.

TransFreedom can save merchants time and money — assets better spent on growing their business — while offering numerous benefits. For starters, this innovative bundled pricing package includes all of the following: Visa®/MasterCard®/Discover® processing fees, PIN processing fees, batch close fee, online reporting access, PCI Compliance Program and Data Breach Security Program fees, statement fee, services fees and the annual fee, plus three rolls of paper each month.

The PCI Compliance Program and the Data Breach Security Program are important safety components of TransFreedom. The PCI Compliance Program assists merchants in certifying their compliance with mandatory payment card industry security requirements, while the Data Breach Security Program helps to shield them from expensive fees and fines in the event of an actual data breach.

The following services and fees are not included in the TransFreedom fee: ACH, ACH return fees and change fees, American Express® fees, chargeback or retrieval fees, gateway fees and other value-added service fees including wireless carrier, check services or gift cards.

Eligibility for TransFreedom is fairly simple. Retail or mail order/telephone order merchants must process $20,000 or less each month and be billed monthly. Seasonal merchants are not eligible for this program. Certain additional restrictions and exclusions apply, and the required merchant account is subject to credit approval. TransFirst reserves the right to approve all accounts.

Bottom line:  TransFreedom delivers flat-fee credit card processing plus the flexibility you need to pay as your business grows. Just select the payment tier that matches your current monthly processing volume and average ticket size. As your needs change, purchase additional volume incrementally.

If saving time and money on your credit card processing statements and fees makes sense to you, talk to a TransFirst rep today to see how TransFreedom might work for your specific operation.
